
Simply stated LEED is a green building initiative. LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a a building methodology in which are sustainable resources are used throughout the construction process. LEED building practices are committed to designing a cohesive building which utilizes renewable resources and minimizes the overall carbon footprint of the building materials. For example, LEED credits are given to companies such as Atlantic Aluminum who can validate that their products are compliant with recycled content percentages and have materials are locally fabricated and minimally transported.
